Warranties Compared

Most industrial electronics manufacturers/suppliers offer some sort of warranty to guarantee their products, but what is the warranty period? We decided to take a look at other industrial electronic suppliers and put their warranty basics in one place for you.

Repair Zone – 1 year

Repair Zone’s re-manufactured and surplus equipment is guaranteed to be in working condition and is warranted for a stated period of time. All warranties are issued by Repair Zone and not the manufacturer.

If the unit is found defective within the warranty period from the invoice date, return it for a free replacement or repair. All products sold by Repair Zone are warranted to our customer only and as follows: such products shall be free from material defect (under normal use, storage, handling, installation and other normal conditions) for the stated warranty period from the date of sale. Our obligation shall be limited to the repair or replacement, at our choice, of any such defective product free of charge to our customer; if we decide that the product cannot be repaired or replaced, we shall issue a credit to our customer in the amount equal to the sum you paid us for it.

Indramat – 2 years

Reman repairs have a 2 yr warranty, and all issues with material and workmanship are covered, but damage from application or voltage spikes are not covered.

Yaskawa –  1 year, Refurbished units 6 months

Standard warranty period for new product is 1 year, refurbished units 6 months,  after being delivered to Yaskawa’s customer or if applicable eighteen months from the date of shipment from Yaskawa’s factory whichever comes first.

If a Yaskawa product is found to be defective due to Yaskawa workmanship or materials and the defect occurs during the warranty period, Yaskawa will provide a replacement, repair the defective product, and provide shipping to and from the site free of charge.

However, if the Yaskawa Authorized Service Center determines that the problem with a Yaskawa product is not due to defects in Yaskawa’s workmanship or materials, then the customer will be responsible for the cost of any necessary repairs.

Fanuc – 1 year

FANUC warrants to Purchaser that all goods supplied hereunder, which are manufactured by either FANUC or FANUC CORPORATION, will be free from defect in material or workmanship for a period of 1 year from the delivery date unless a different period is set forth in the body of the proposal in which these terms are incorporated.
Should any defect appear during the warranty period, FANUC shall, if given prompt notice by Purchaser, correct such nonconformity by, in FANUC’s sole discretion, either (i) repair at the jobsite, or (ii) repair or replacement of the nonconforming goods F.O.B. FANUC’s designated repair facility.

Repair parts are warranted by FANUC for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery, provided, however, that repairs or replacements to original goods shall not renew or extend the warranty period of such goods. Replaced goods or parts become the property of FANUC. Goods supplied hereunder, which have been purchased by FANUC from manufacturers other than FANUC CORPORATION, shall have only the warranty offered by the manufacturer thereof, and FANUC disclaims any responsibility with respect to the performance of such goods.
